Hi
So I was in Turkey this week end where I was judge (with my friends A_Qui and Scelus) of a national championship organized by Tombow over there.
i will write about it later.

Fransa kalem çevirme şampiyonu, aynı zamanda dünya üçüncüsü
Mattheiu Boyer henüz 21 yaşında ama kalem çevirme sporu için
aslında kendisinin yaşlı olduğunu söylüyor. Dünyada bu işin
ilgilileri genellikle 13-18 yaş arasında. Hemen her öğrencinin
bir dönem hararetle yaptığı kalem çevirme işini ciddiye alıp
'spor' olarak değerlendiren ilk millet ise Koreliler olmuş:
Bundan yaklaşık 10 yıl önce... Şu an Kore'de 300 binden fazla
profesyonel kalem çevirici var. Ardından 100 bin kişiyle Japonya
geliyor. Uzakdoğu'dan sonra Avrupa'ya yayılan bu spor, Amerika'da
ise henüz çok ciddiye alınmıyor. Ama yavaş yavaş bütün dünyaya
yayılıyor.
The French Pen-spinning Champion, and also the third in the world
Matthieu Boyer is only 21 year-old but he claimed that he is
old for this sport. All over the world, generally, age of
pen-spinners is more between 13-18. About ten years ago
the Koreans evaluated pen-spining as a sport for the first time,
which nearly perform all the student with a good enthusiasm
in the world. At the moment in Korea, there would be 300 000
profesionnal penspinner. Japan is running-up after Korea
with 100 000 pen spinners. Then, It has been
spreading to Europe. Although, pen-spining is not taken
seriously as a sport in the USA, it extends gradually entire
world.
Uzun yıllardır kalem çeviren Mattheiu Boyer, Türkiye'ye
'Çevir bi Tombow' yarışmasında jüri üyeliği yapmak için geldi.
Boyer, kalem çevirme sporunun daha çok internet
üzerinden sürdürülen bir dal olduğunu belirtiyor.
Pen Spinner for a long time, Matthieu Boyer, came to Turkey in order to
attend as a juryman in competition "Spin a Tombow (Çevir Bi Tombow
in local language). Boyer state pen-spining sport generally keep going
on the net.
"Peki kalem çevirmenin insana ne tür bir katkısı var?" Mattheiu Boyer bu
soruyu şöyle yanıtlıyor: "El kaslarını çalıştırıyor haliyle ama bu böyle
bir spor değil aslında. Daha çok bir gösteri sporu. Sonuçta amaç eğlenmek.
Bazıları stres atmak için top sıkar, bazıları sigara içer, biz de böyle bir
şey yapıyoruz işte.Boyer ayrıca, Fransa'da genç kızların kalem çevirmede başarılı
erkekleri, ellerini iyi kullanabildikleri için daha çekici bulduklarını söylüyor.
Başarılı olmanın sırrı ise düzenli çalışma. Kendisi günde ortalama 30 dakika pratik
yapıyor. Yeni hareketler geliştiriyor. 'Sadece tembel öğrenciler kalem çevirir'
düşüncesine ise tamamen karşı; "Benim tanıdığım pek çok kalem çeviricisinin dersleri
de çok iyi." Boyer de bir mühendislik öğrencisi. Dersleri çok yoğun olduğu için kalem
çevirme şu anda onun için bir hobi. Ama bu işi Fransa'da ilk yapanlardan biri ve
camiasında artık bir efsane olduğu için çeşitli organizasyonlar düzenlenliyor ve gençler
kalem çevirmeye yönlendiriyor.
"What kind of a benefit that pen spining has?" Matthieu Boyer replied to
this quesion as follows : "Training the hand muscles but this is not a sport
like this. It is show business. We spin for fun.(The aim is to entertain)
Somebody grip a ball, somebody smokes and here we are, we spin the pen. And Boyer says,
French girls like successful men at pen spinning. Secret of succes is workout,
he practise 30 minute all day and he creats new tricks. Boyer is against the
''Always lazy students spin the pen'' he knows very good pen spinners that
are very succesful at school. And Matthieu Boyer is an engineer student in telecommunication so
he is busy and pen spinning's just hobby for him now. He is legend of pen spinning (I've never said that >-<) and
he trains new performers at France

This interview was done when I was in Istanbul so it's fully in Turkisch but well, if you translate it, it's an article about penspinning, I was interviewed for more than half an hour
so...
